VanLife Festival - Stratford Racecourse 22nd - 24th July 2022

Back in April this year I saw a post from a guy named Damo Jones who said he was going to put on an exclusive festival just based on Van Life. The price for entry was just £77 for 3 nights camping with toilets/showers on site plus 2 day entry to the festival, live music & talks...at that price who could refuse! We wasn't sure what it would be like for that price, plus he only had just over 2 months to put it all together, I had a gut feeling that it would be an awesome first festival for us, and boy it didn't dissapoint.

The Line Up

The Talks

We set off from home at about 11am on the Friday and arrived at the festival site about 2pm, the marshalls were great at getting everyone in through the gates super fast and directed to our pitch. There was no limit to the size of pitch you wanted really, just park up, let the marshal know if you had a tent/awning etc and they gave you plenty of room between the next van.

After pitching up (and proper testing our new solar panel set-up which I will do a review of soon) we took a walk around the festival site, as the event didn't officially open & start to the public until the Saturday, there was so much going on already for us campers... food stalls, display vehicles, live music....

We pretty much bimbled around on the Friday after the drive, had a look around the site, had an amazing veggie pizza, we just chilled, had a cider and retired to bed early.

After a great nights sleep (considering the amount of vans here it was exceedingly quiet) & some breakfast, it was time for the festival to officially start.

So many vans, so many stalls selling some great items, so much great music, so much variety of food, so many different areas (chill out, party, holistic, kids), just so so much to see & do.

Saturday consisted of a lot of walking around the site looking at all the amazing vans, eating, drinking, chilling and just having a great time.

On the Sunday we decided to take a walk into Stratford-Upon-Avon, and as per usual, wherever we go we have to have some form of adventure so we took the scenic route, we picked up the Monarchs Way which ran along the canal, not really knowing where we were going, it took us over an hour to reach the town, found a Costa(which was one of the main reasons to go here), on the return it took us 10mins to get back by taking the sensible route.

Sunday evening even though we still had had another night here, we decided to head home, I had work on the Monday, so it was either leave Monday, work in the afternoon or leave Sunday, work in the morning and have the afternoon off..decision made.

The organisers of this event have done an amazing job of putting this together in just 16 weeks. If you are looking for a great festival to go to next year, then this one should definately be on top of your list. We cannot wait for the tickets to go on sale and we will 100% be there.

Amazing value for money, such a good vibe to the whole place & dog friendly.

We are off to check out another little off grid campsite next weekend for my birthday which I will be putting a blog up about soon after.
